Have a Cold Sore? Steer Clear!
The danger of having dental work done while you have an active cold sore is to you, the patient! A cold sore is a virus..HSV 1 (oral herpes). The cold sore could rub against our gloves while we work on your teeth and by touching other areas of your face with the gloves the virus could spread to different areas of your mouth, nose, or eyes! When the cold sore has dried up or gone away then it is safe to return to the dentist. If you have a cold sore, please steer clear of our office. It’s not for our safety, it’s for yours!
