Practice Philosophy

Preventive maintenance is the best way to protect you from periodontal disease and long-term tooth decay. And most importantly, preventive maintenance leads to good overall health. I recommend a preventive schedule that includes regular cleanings with a dental hygienist every three to six months. In addition to regular cleanings, there is much that you can achieve at home – starting with a balanced diet that avoids (or enjoys in moderation) highly acidic foods, wines, coffee and large amounts of refined sugar. Good oral hygiene can also be achieved with a disciplined brushing and flossing schedule.

In addition to regularly scheduled cleanings, dental exams should also include:

  • X-rays
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Evaluation of the health of your teeth
  • Evaluation of the gums and jaw bones
  • Evaluation of your TMJ
  • Computer evaluation of your bite

Plus, a thorough check of your gum line and problem areas as well as applications of sealants and fluorides to help protect your teeth.

It’s time to achieve a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.
